They say imitation is the finest form of flattery: knock offs, spin offs and wannabes. But sometimes there's nothing better than the real deal. When it comes to technology, there are no cutting corners. And as one of the leaders in the industry, Samsung gets that by providing only the best quality products and innovations. From their Galaxy phone to their very own, first ever developer conference happening in San Francisco this fall just announced this week.

Producer: Barry Heaps
Director: Ben/Dave
Agency: Possible
Client: Samsung

So when we were approached by the team at 3MC and Possible about the opportunity to raise awareness about their Samsung SB970 TV in the premium monitor category, we couldn't resist. And leave it to directing duo Ben/Dave to use humor in an unexpected way via Buddy the (stuffed) dog. The imitation dog is meant to be so ridiculous demonstraiting in extreme that there is no substitute for the real thing. Just as the less authentic monitors are no substitute for a Samsung.

Now that the objective was clear, the concept couldn't be more fun to execute. But first we needed to find the star of the spot, Buddy. A less traditional casting, we found our leading role online, delivered via air mail just in the nick of time along with a back up clone just in case.

Buddy made for a great actor and had his stunts and lines down pat. Just like a walk in the park. Litterally.

And, the best part is knowing all the hard work that goes into a spot pays off - we were thrilled to find out it was Ad Week's #10 top watched ad in May with 1,837,530 views as of May13, 2013. So feel free to do Fueld a favor and give it another watch to up our hit count.
